Description

Fortunately the Clark location of Goose Island has enough room to house about half of Wrigley Field because more than half of the Cub's fans head to Goose Island for post-game shenanigans. Featuring many varieties of beer and a mural of legendary baseball heroes the size of Kansas, it's no surprise that sports fans favor this bar/restaurant above all others.

You'll find yourself drinking in the front half of Goose Island where comfy leather seats line the typical Lincoln Park-style bar. The beer selection consists of Goose Island product such as Honker’s Ale, Summertime or Nut Brown Ale. For Mega-Cubs fans, try the “Ryne 23,” brewed with wheat and pale malts as a special tribute to the hall-of-famer himself.

Diners typically head to the opposite side of the bar, where most of the booths are located. The food is standard bar variety, but noteworthy exceptions include the Stilton burger (half-pound of black pepper-crusted burger, Stilton cheese and Dusseldorf mustard on a pumpernickel bun) and the Cajon meat loaf. The limited vegetarian options include a few salads and a Garden Burger. Entrees average $8-$16, and pints are about $5.

Goose Island also has a back area, with tables, flat-screen TVs and a small stage where new talent perform, but you might find it tricky listening to a live set while watching the Cubs blow whatever lead they had on TV. Or not. Cross your fingers.
