You'll find a full roster of music and plenty of pub grub at this North Suburban Irish bar. DJs file in for a danceclub-like experience, while Led Zepplin covers bands, college rock bands and local and national groups like Mike & Joe and Cracker take the stage on other nights. Think you're good enough to join the fun? Stop by for Monday night's open mic or karaoke on Tuesday.
There's a rooftop terrace and beer gardens for, you guessed it, partaking in Durty Nellie's extensive menu of appetizers (like Wisconsin cheese curds and the Gut Buster sampler of loaded nachos, quesadillas and wings), flatbread pizza, burgers, sandwiches and entrees that include Guinness pot roast and smoked BBQ meatloaf.
The beer menu is pleasantly robust, with brews like Flying Dog Tire Bite, Dogfish Head 90 Min IPA and Goose Island Summertime. Stop by for Thursday's $3 microbrew night to sample the good stuff for less.
And the name? Refers to a centuries-old lass who used to dunk dead mice in the pints of troubling customers before serving it to them. Watch out!
