Description
2009 celebrates the 100th year of the publication of Daniel Burnham’s The Plan of Chicago. The Synesthetic Plan of Chicago: A Multi-Sensory Journey Through Chicago and Its Neighborhoods celebrates this event. A portion of the interactive installation will be on exhibit in the library, 3rd floor (next to the Instructor Materials) The Synesthetic Plan of Chicago is a collaboration of over 40 artists and organizations. The exhibit allows the visitor to “experience” Chicago through one or more of the five senses. The pieces are crafted to invite people to interact with the sensory “artifacts” of Chicago in creative and imaginative ways. The Synesthetic Plan of Chicago is commissioned by the City of Chicago, and it is co-curated by Annie Heckman and Dan Godston.

Location: 624 S. Michigan Ave., Columbia College Chicago Library, 3rd Floor East, TMC Area
