The one thing the Abbey definitely has is character and even if you don't write it on the bathroom wall make sure you are able to say "I Was There!"Most of The Abbey's "character" is due to its owners. The Irish couple that opened The Abbey Pub in 1974 are still a major part of its venue, pub and restaurant.
The Abbey is a great venue for a wide variety of music. First of all let us list the important info: Wilco, Tea Leaf Green, John Popper, Minus Five, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Nickel Creek, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Dan Hicks, Amy Ray, Robert Pollard, Lyric Born have played The Abbey...but the list goes on and on.
..The Abbey has been around since polyester leisure suits, parachute pants, flannel shirts and doc martens...but it has always remained consistent with amazing music. And The Abbey plans to be around to see those styles come back around. So whether you're a front row dancer, bar hugger or people watcher there is a place for all music lovers at The Abbey.
And along with great music comes great food! Picture yourself in a room full of soccer fans, a thick stout beer in one hand, high-fiving with the other and in front of you sits The Abbey's famous Shepard's Pie. Ummmmm, Perfection!
