Charles graduated with high honors from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. He is an accomplished piano, alto and soprano saxophone, clarinet and flute player. He has played with the DePaul University Symphony Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and Clarity Trio Jazz Ensemble. Charles also works as a composer, recently completing the soundtrack for the movie The Door (released in 2005).
