Description
Pecha Kucha
PechaKucha Night brings prominent and emerging creative minds together for an evening of lightning-fast presentations, networking and fun. The PechaKucha format, where a dozen or so presenters are given 20 slides each shown for 20 seconds to reveal their passions, work and inspirations, is now held in over 190 cities around the world. Chicago events are among the most popular, with over 250 people in attendance at each event.
Chicago s Volume 12 features 6 minutes and 40 seconds seconds each of musician, photographer and Yorkshireman Michael Jackson, School of the Art Institute Professor and architect Garret Eakin, Cleveland
PechaKucha Night organizers Michael Christoff and Raseem Parker (presenting separately), the large-haired Zak Baker, artist Maria Scileppi (who will be your friend before the evening is out), writer Lara Brown
planning a presentation to tease the crowd, graphic designer Linda Jackson (no relation to Michael), and a gaggle of architects likely talking about anything but, including Katherine Darnstadt, Young Architects Forum Chair Matt Dumich, and former Florida soccer player Larry Kearns. Architect Peter Exley and Jean Linsner, Director of Education for the Chicago Architecture Foundation, will emcee the evening. Jazz quintet Bangers & Mash (featuring Michael Jackson) will perform an encore set to round out the evening.
