More about these performers
Julian Plenti
Interpol’s lead singer, lyricist and guitarist Paul Banks will release a solo album under the name Julian Plenti, Banks has written and performed under the Plenti moniker for several years, according to a source close to the situation. While the album was recorded recently, some of the songs were written more than ten years ago. The album is described as having a “cocky, sexy” feel, with tracks that sound similar to Interpol, as well as some straight-ahead guitar rock songs.More about METRO
METRO
METRO Chicago is a live music venue that opened in 1982 and is owned by Joe Shanahan. The METRO Chicago building was originally a Swedish Community Center when it was built in 1927. However, when Shanahan first came across the METRO building in the 1970s it was a jazz and folk club called Stages. In July of 1982, Shanahan took over the fourth floor of the club and opened SmartBar. SmartBar became such a big success that Shanahan eventually took over the main floors of the building and re-opened it as METRO.METRO is dedicated to bringing emerging artists from local, regional and national levels to Chicago. METRO Chicago has had a reputation of bringing the nation’s up and coming performers to the fore front. Billy Idol, Depeche Mode, O.M.D. and New Order are just some of the legendary names featured in the first year of METRO’s schedule of events. With performances from artists like Bob Dylan, Moby, Fall Out Boy, James Brown and Prince, the METRO schedule did not take a break from booking the biggest and the best names in music. Check out Eventful's METRO Chicago schedule of events above for up to date event information.
