Danada Forest Preserve 5 Mile Run

RUN on the grounds where famous Kentucky Derby racehorses once trained. We'll run two different loops through savannas, prairies, marshes and a lake, and learn of Danada's equestrian history. DISTANCE/TYPE 5 mile, two loops. You are, of course, welcome to run a lesser or greater distance. I'll be running an easy pace, and others may be present to lead some faster paces. SURFACE Dirt and crushed limestone. LEVEL Easy. WHERE From Chicago take I-290 west to I-88. Follow I-88 for 12 miles until reaching Naperville Road. Follow Naperville Road to the left (north) for 0.8 miles; turn right at the sign for Danada. We'll meet in front of the Danada House. Carpooling: Please email the Organizer if you are looking to carpool. We can not guarantee any ride sharing, but we will look into it for you. DETAILS The run will start PROMPTLY AT 10:00 so please be there 10-15 minutes early to check in with us. Call my cell (773)-742-2331 before the run if you need any details. I will answer it up until the start of the run. We will not delay the start time if you are running late- you will have to catch up with us during or after the race. BRING PLENTY OF WATER ON THE RUN- our trails do not have water stations. For this meetup there is a club dues collected of $1 for website, materials, events. Please bring change.
