Cut Copy's bio and tour dates
Cut Copy
Cut Copy are a band from Melbourne, Australia. Their sound, perhaps best labeled as indie dance, is much in the vein of contemporaries such as Daft Punk, and draws considerable influence from 80's bands such as Fleetwood Mac, New Order, and ELO. The band began in 2001 as the project of Dan Whitford. In 2003 Whitford recruited additional members, and in 2005 toured internationally for the first time, visiting London, New York and Los Angeles. They have toured with international acts Franz Ferdinand, Junior Senior, Bloc Party, and Mylo amongst others. Cut Copy is managed by Phil Hutcheon, and is signed to the record label Modular Recording...

More about Vic Theatre
Vic Theatre
The Vic, like the Metro or the Riviera, has the clout to attract popular musical acts in a space that maintains the intimacy that's usually trounced in arena shows. Unlike those other venues, however, the Vic is host to an event that is strictly a Chicago phenomenon: the mighty Brew-and View. But first, the Vic itself: The structure is somewhat similar to the Riviera with a big floor where fans of body-on-body action congregate (or just stand if the show is low-key) and a balcony that provides both refuge and a better view. General admission typically necessitates early arrival, should you want the coveted best seat (or plot of floor) in the house. Majestic columns border the sides and hold seats where the press and other special people sit. Drinks are of the Miller variety. All in all, the Vic is a good place to see a show. However, as entertaining as a rock concert is at the Vic, seeing a movie there is an entirely different beast. When the stage is empty, the Vic Jekyll-and-Hydes its way into the Brew-N-View, which is exactly how it sounds: a glorious excuse to get drunk and watch cult-classics and movies that have long passed first-run cinema. No matter what night you go to the Vic, you will enjoy the hell out of yourself. Phone: (773) 472-0449
