Event details: 6th Annual SCRABBLE for Literacy Challenge
Description
Join the madness that is SCRABBLE! Literacy Volunteers of Illinois hosts the 6th annual SCRABBLE for Literacy Challenge! Proceeds will benefit adult and family literacy programs in Illinois, as well as the Jump Start program, which serves incarcerated youth. Whether you have never opened a dictionary or are a seasoned veteran of the game, there is a crowd for you!
There will be many different modes of play for all skill levels!
Casual Play - Where relaxed or newer SCRABBLE players play
Competitive Play - Where more serious players will be randomly matched in tournament play
Side Games - Word Play (Spelling Many words from a set of tiles) & Beat the Champs (Contesting previous SCRABBLE Champs)
This year, the event will also host a North American SCRABBLE Players Association fully rated sanctioned tournament. To play in the NASPA tournament you must be a paid member! There are cash prizes for those who play in the tournament.

Also, come out to bid in our silent auction! Prizes last year ranged from Cubs and Sox memorabilia to local theater and museum tickets!
