Bobbie Hanvey is an award-winning photographer, living and working in Northern Ireland. The Burns Library is the only institution to hold any of Hanvey's unpublished works, and we have over 19,000 of his photographs which document the people and life in the North of Ireland since the 1970s. The collection contains portraits and candid images of noted writers, poets and artists including Seamus Heaney, John McGahern, and Rita Duffy, as well as journalistic images covering public, paramilitary, and political activity.

Boston College is a private research university located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, in the New England region of the United States.
