Quilting for Beginners | Chesterfield, Virginia 23832
This class is designed for a beginning quilter. Students will gain an understanding of basic quilting terms and procedures and will make a basic quilt. Some sewing may need to be done at home. Students will learn to correctly use rotary cutting equipment and sew accurate seam allowances. Students must have basic knowledge of using their sewing machine. Please bring these items to the first class: sewing machine in good working order and user?s manual or guide; rotary cutter; 18-by- 24 rotary cutting mat; 6-by-24 rotary cutting ruler; 6-by-6 rotary cutting ruler; one-quarter yard each of two coordinating cotton fabrics; sewing gauge; thread (neutral color); basic sewing supplies; and extension cord or power strip. Fabric should be laundered before class. Optional items, which we will discuss in class, include a quarter-inch foot for sewing machine; walking foot or dual feed foot for sewing machine; and 6-by-12 rotary cutting ruler.
