      NABA Men's Baseball League Tryouts

As opportunities present themselves, I will pass them on to the group in case some of you want to join them. Repeat: this is not something I am personally organizing. Here is the email I received today from the league president: The National Adult Baseball Association is forming a Chattanooga baseball league. The website for the league is This is a very detailed league with stats, tournaments, uniforms and is being chartered by one of last year's leading managers of the Colorado team. This Sunday, March 15th, at 12:30pm will be the first tryout/draft. All players and managers need to be there, even if you already have most of your team in place. I must have a solid confirmation of who will be there, so please do so by replying to this email, and please do not say you will be there and then not show up. All players who are trying out, please bring $5.00 with you. Bring your glove and bat. Managers who already have teams and players who have friends that wish to play, I need the names, email addresses, and phone numbers of these players THIS WEEK. To bring everyone up to date , I have been working on securing a field, and it has been challenging to say the least. What I have noticed is that the Chattanooga area is rich in softball fields, but not so much in regulation baseball fields, and the rec. fields I have found are generally in poor condition. I havenÂ’t been to all fields in the area, so hopefully I find some suitable fields to use. This is an ongoing process, and I welcome the help if you know someone I should be talking to. Currently we have 4 managers who already have most of their team in place, so there is an excellent chance that we will have 6 teams. During the last meeting there was discussion about having double headers on Sunday. I am not opposed to this, but much will depend on whether or not we have the fields for it. To do double headers with 6 teams we need at least two fields.. I will continue to explore the to determine feasibility. After the tryout I will recap a lot of the information that has been put out during our meetings for those who have missed. If the weather is threatening the tryout, I will send an email. If you are unsure, please call me. 954-632-0398 Teams can add players throughout the season, however there will be a cutoff date, which I will announce, where new players will not be eligible for playoffs. From experience, 15 players is what you should have on each team. If we do double headers, 17 to 20 would be needed because of the extra pitching that you will need. See you all Sunday! Jeff Santaite, NABA League President The league manager's name is Jeff Santiate and his number is 719-302-5311 or 954-632-0398. You can also email him at During tryouts, team managers will just pick teams and the cost of this league is expected to run from a couple hundred to a few hundred per player for the season.
