The SoVA Wine Trail, which those "in the know" refer to as "SoVA" was established in Spring 2009 by an enthusiastic group of grape growers/wine makers with 11 wineries located in Southern Virginia. Southern Virginia is an up-and-coming grape-growing region that hosts a unique and ideal terroir for growing a vast variety of grapes for fine wine making. Being a group of small boutique farm wineries, visitors to The SoVA Wine Trail get a much more personalized experience, often having one-on-one interaction with The Trail's ecclectic group of vineyard owners and wine makers! SoVA is perfect weekend getaway,a Girls Trip or a day trip that is less than four hours from Washington D.C.area,2 hrs from Richmond,VA & 1.5 hours from Raleigh,& Greensboro, NC.
