Speaker / Performer Andre Lambertson (Col 81)
The U.Va. Womens Centers International Initiatives program is partnering with the Pultizer Center on Crisis Reporting to bring the U.Va. student body a powerful multi-media journalism presentation on the experiences of those living in post-earthquake Haiti. Journalist and U.Va. alum Andre Lambertson (Col 81) will explore themes of agency, voice, and identity through a unique presentation combining poetry, original music, and photography. Lambertson has been reporting on Haiti with Keven Simonds and Kwame Dawes, whose previous project was awarded an Emmy and a Webby. Their non-traditional, multi-media reporting brings light to critical issues that are underrepresented in the news today.
