The Summer Jefferson Symposium is a vibrant academic program that reflects Thomas Jefferson's guiding principles while uncovering historical facts, fictions and myths about him. The Lifetime Learning Program at the University of Virginia is proud to present a stimulating examination of Thomas Jefferson's love for literature, the topic of this year's Summer Jefferson Symposium. From Thursday, June 21, 2012 through Sunday, June 24, 2012 speakers will present an intimate account of the books Jefferson read, the manuscripts and letters he wrote and the Jefferson legacy that still impacts society today.
The four-day conference will include on Grounds housing, expert speakers on Jefferson, tours of historic homes and gardens, exhibits, all meals and an opportunity to walk in the U.Va. Founder's footsteps. Registration is required http://www.virginia.edu/lifetimelearning/. Participants may register to stay on Grounds at Brown College or handle their own lodging accommodations. We welcome participants 18 years or older. The deadline to register is June 6, 2012 and there is a late registration period from June 7, 2012 - June 14, 2012 with a $50 late fee.
