Sol & Funk Root perform as part of the Charlottesville Music Showcase Concert Series on Wednesday March 28. Sol is a world class guitarist and vocalist who creates a stylish blend of fiery rock, deep blues, and raw funk and draws from an incredible background of musical touring. Sol has performed around the world with roots, funk, and blues legends and has backed up musical heavyweights such as Taj Mahal and Kenny Wayne Shepherd on stage and in the studio. Sol brings an all star cast of musicians together for the Charlottesville Music Showcase, hosted by guitar wizard Tucker Rodgers. Sol will have super solid bassist Houston Ross (Corey Harris, Tim Reynolds, Jamal Millner) and drummer Jeff Lounderback. On the recent "Freedom" CD release, Sol leads a cast of musicians who work with Corey Harris, Jah Works, Hobex, Squirrel Nut Zippers, the Alliens, The Seed, and more.
