New Year's Monticello Trail Run 3.5 miles Moderate

Get 2010 off to a good running start! We will run 3.5 miles on the Monticello Trail. The trail is crushed gravel and boardwalk and has some nice views. Runners will meet at 10:00 for a 3.5 mile run. The first 1.5 miles are a steady (but not steep) incline that is moderately challenging. Since it is a loop trail, you get to enjoy the downhill on your way back! We will do the regular 3.5 mile loop to the gates. Get a good start on those New Year's resolutions! :) We will meet in the Thomas Jefferson Parkway Parking lot that is located directly off Rt. 20 south (not the small lot on 53). The lot is right across from PVCC, coming from Charlottesville take Rt. 20 south and when you get to the light at PVCC, look for a brown sign for Thomas Jefferson Parkway Parking lot on the left. You will make a U-turn into the parking lot before the next traffic light. The road the parking lot is on is called Dairy Barn Rd. and says "Private Drive". If you end up at the wrong parking lot, don't worry, just hang tight and we will catch you when we start up the trail. Please bring plenty of water!!!
