Description
Located in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre serves as one of the city’s main venues for large music and entertainment performances. Originally known as the Blockbuster Pavilion, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Charlotte opened its doors in 1991. The venue currently offers both reserved and lawn seating and can accommodate up to 19,500 spectators. The Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Charlotte is one of many venues under the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre “brand” (some other locations include California, Texas and Georgia). Charlotte’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre is currently owned and operated by one of the nation’s leading names in entertainment, Live Nation.
Since opening in the early 1990s, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Charlotte has brought some of the biggest names in entertainment to the city's residents. Aerosmith, Journey and the Vans Warped Tour are just a few of the favorites that have been featured on the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre schedule in the past, with many more lined up for the coming year.
