About the class: Practiced for over 5000 years, this ancient discipline seeks to improve health and relaxation through breathing exercises, physical postures, and meditation. Beginner through advanced levels welcome! Our instructors seek to guide each individual through his/her best practice possible. Suggested attire/gear: yoga mat, water bottle, non-constricting clothes, no shoes. About the teacher: Katie has been practicing yoga since high school. However, it was the birth of her daughter that brought her to embrace the profound effects that yoga has on the mind as well as the body. Yoga was the perfect remedy to deal with the stresses and changes that come with being a new mother. She felt a calming of her mind and a sense of peace that she had never experienced. As her love for the yoga deepened, she felt compelled to attend teacher training led by Lizzy Hoffman at The Yoga Oasis. In May 2010 Katie completed her 200RYT in Flow/Vinyasa yoga. In addition to her classes at MoveStudio, Katie also teaches at the YMCA and The Yoga Oasis, private lessons, and a Six Week Yoga Bootcamp that she created for locals to enjoy in their places of business or homes.
