Description
Are you as Internet savvy as you need to be? To learn more about effective ways to stand out in Internet marketing, and how to creatively build relationships using todayÂÂ's social media tools, weÂÂ're bringing together a panel of noted Internet marketing and social media professionals. Join us on Tuesday, November 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Ivey, at 6030 Park South Drive, Charlotte, for a panel including Scott Hepburn, Roy Morejon and Fred Sexton. The event is free, with hospitality provided by our hosts at The Ivey, which is available for rental for weddings, receptions or other events. In addition to our panel, weÂÂ'll learn more about The Ivey and its services. http://www.theivey.com/home/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=81&Itemid=80 Our panel members are noted for their expertise in serving clients who are building their presence on the Internet and using social media effectively to grow their businesses. The panel will be moderated by Lynn Roberson, a member of our MeetUp group and a public relations and marketing veteran with corporate, small business and public sector experience. Lynn is a communications consultant and also works with her husband Glenn Roberson, owner of Glenn Roberson Photography. http://glennroberson.com Scott Hepburn is a social media consultant, public relations/marketing writer, and proud daddy. His company Media Emerging teaches businesses how to use social media throughout their operations, from marketing to HR to internal collaboration. He also teaches workshops and seminars on the new tools of communication. He blogs at MediaEmerging.com and tweets at @ScottHepburn. Scott has been a leader at local marketing and publishing companies and served a stint with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. One unusual fact: Scott plays competitive Scrabble (and yes, Scott says you CAN make money playing Scrabble). Scott earned his BachelorÂÂ's degree in Journalism from Ithaca College. Roy Morejon (@RoyMorejon) is an entrepreneur and Internet marketing consultant specializing in brand outreach, viral marketing and social media strategy. Roy is president and founder of B2WE a social media marketing agency focusing on brand strategy and corporate communications. With over a decade of Internet marketing experience, Roy is the go-to guy for businesses that want to maximize their marketing exposure using blogs and social media outlets. Roy also serves as co-founder of the Search Engine Marketing Association Charlotte and founder of North Carolina Businesses for Social Responsibility. Roy graduated from The University of North Carolina ÂÂ- Charlotte with a degree in Communications ÂÂ- Mass Media. Roy, a self acclaimed work-a-holic and a twitter addict, has worked with national brands and many local Charlotte businesses, including Microsoft, Dell, AT&T, NASCAR, Charlotte Bobcats and SLAPPA Distribution. Roy is an active part of the Charlotte community, spending time helping to promote and attend Internet marketing and social media events throughout the Queen City. Fred Sexton, AKA: The Big Cheese, has been a prolific designer of creative and cutting-edge websites and Internet marketing campaigns for many years. Fred listened to his entrepreneurial spirit and opened Steinbeck-inspired "Mouse and Man," an online marketing company, in 2007. Fred blogs on his website, mouseandman.com and tweets at @FredSexton. Fred is committed to translating a client's vision into a final product that is smart, effective, demanding of attention and, most importantly, fulfilling the client's ultimate goals. Fred has helped businesses successfully promote an extensive array of products and services to strategically targeted markets around the world using the Internet. He provides coaching to clients on Search Engine Optimization as well. Fred's passion for visual interpretation emanates from an appreciation of composition and form. As a photo-realistic painter he tries to capture the meaning of each subject, focusing on the ways art can impact, inspire and incent change. Fred is currently mastering the subtleties and joy in child portraits, acknowledging his muse: his 15 month old daughter Ellie, for opening this artistic medium. When Fred is not pursuing artistic and e-marketing excellence, he is a competitive amateur cyclist, with an average of 250 miles logged per week. Fred earned his bachelorÂÂ's degree from N.C. State University.
