Black Friday Paddle

Grab the kids, Grand Ma, and crazy Uncle Joe and join us the day after Thanksgiving! Lets paddle off some of that stuffing and pecan pie and avoid the retail craziness that is fondly known as Black Friday. Since we will all be sluggish and stuffed - I want to make this a leisure paddle so it is a great opportunity for the newbies to come out or if you have kids - bring them out. (I will have 4 with me so they will welcome!) Lets meet at 11am at City Lake Park in Albemarle NC. This is a neat little park that many of you may not even be aware of. They have a 100 acre undeveloped lake with an offshoot creek that you can paddle fairly deep into. (Even a bridge you have to duck under - fun stuff!) Also this little park boasts hiking trails, fishing, an amphitheater, pic-nic shelters, and a mountain bike trail. So if you have family members that don't want to paddle - they can hang out and explore the trails or throw a frisbee. I don't expect we will be on the water for much longer than a couple hours at the most. Where: Albemarle City Park off Hwy 73 coming into Albemarle. Unfortunately I cannot find an actual address for you to enter into the GPS ... but basically take Hwy 73 towards Albemarle. It is a small lake so we will be taking our time - so newbies, kids, WW kayaks, Rec Kayaks, Touring Kayaks, Canoes, blow up rafts so we can laugh at you. Come all!
