Christmas Tree Lighting/Electric Light Parade - Family Event ~ Partial No Host

okay, as of last year, this event was much too hard to keep organized. So this is being put on the calendar as a no host! This is a must see annual CG tradition and we have a blast. We'll do our best to communicate and stay in a group, but no guarantees. We try to stay as close to the announcer's platform as we can. Those of us coming from Donna & Margo's can hopefully stay together. For those meeting us there, if you want to find us, make sure you have cell numbers. Start meeting at Peart Park at 5:00 p.m. Saturday December 5th by the announcer's platform. Bring a chair/blanket to sit on. Two years ago, it was soooo cold! But last year wasn't. Make sure you bring an extra blanket and a heavy jacket just in case. Bring whatever you would like to drink and a snack. Hoping for a bag of chips from the Frito Lay truck won't work, lol. Remember, we'll be there through dinner time. Donna & Margo is contininuing the 'Christimas Open House' tradition. Yahoooooo! They will open up their home to guests before, during and after the Electric Light Parade. There will be snacks and good 'cheer' drinks to warm you up. They they have the most darling house in historic downtown just above Florence Blvd. It works out great! So any of you that would like to visit with others, sip on holiday cheer, eat a cookie and just feel the warmth of CGSA friendship, please RSVP on that event page. We may or may not have the CGSA sandwich sign set up. Last year it was too difficult. So we'll play it by ear. The actual tree lighting is nothing to get excited about, but we need to get there early to stake out space to set up. Remember to bring a chair! Now the actual parade...omg!! What a blast. This was so much fun. We oohed and ahhed and cheered and laughed. I sure hope the Eloy Firefighters make another appearance!! :) I wonder if they set the stage for others to follow, can't wait to see. Our very own Dave and Joanne of the Lion's Club will be on hand selling much needed hot chocolate. Make sure you stop by, say hi and buy something to support our local Lions Club. See you there! The City of Casa Grande Community Services Department, APS, Casa Grande Valley Newspapers Inc., and Casa Grande Main Street along with the following departments of the City of Casa Grande: Public Works, Police, Fire and Parks and Recreation are helping to ring in the holiday season with the Tree Lighting Ceremony followed by the 15th Annual Electric Light Parade. This is a bright and festive holiday event set for Saturday, December 5th, beginning in Peart Park at 5 p.m. We will officially light the city's Christmas tree and street decorations, followed by the Electric Light Parade.
