SocalDrummers!! Our first ALL FREE night-- Duncan Moore ( Elvin Jones night! )

Hey Drummers! Dunc and I couldn't be happier with the first Meetup with Kevin O'day-- Thanks so much for joining in and building something cool! The next meetup will be the first of the "regular second tuesday of the month" meetups that we'll be sponsoring. We've decided to put special guests on their own nights if there is a FEE for the artist. This will keep the Tues night hang/clinic free to those of our members that either arent interested in the particular guest, or cant afford to shell out for that particular clinic. So for instance: In November we have the Tuesday night regular meetup, but the following night, the 11th, will be special guest Jimmy Branly ( provided we sell a minimum of 25 seats... we are at 11 at the time of this writing, so SIGN UP AND RSVP!!) So it's my pleasure to present, our very own Duncan Moore http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u142/cajonezzz/dizzysgtars-044.jpg This Nov 10th regular Tuesday is gonna be killer.. Duncan Moore is putting together an Elvin Jones retrospective, he'll be demoing Elvins styles, and handing out a cool compilation mp3 disk of selected Elvin Jones discography, with a study guide to go along with it. He'll also have a cool powerpoint (keynote) up on the big screen with media attached so that we can get a little flavor of Elvin happening on the big screen. This evening will be considerably more casual and interactive than a "performance guest clinician" and we'll try to build in a little time during to talk about other stuff like Music biz issues, recording, new artists... whatever. Hanging out and talking drums/biz/life and getting to know one another are high on the list for these Tuesday meetups! Remember, we're new at this, so we want use the time in the best way to benefit all of you-- Pitch in your comments and suggestions here on the message board!
