"3 Mile Thursday" Batiquitos Lagoon, Carlsbad

For our first January Thursday walk, let's do something simple, close-by and scenic. Distance is 5K (3 miles). This walk is at Batiquitos Lagoon and is an out-and-back on a soft dirt trail that's level and easy walking. The trail is waterfront and features some gorgeous palm trees, goes by a golf course and has "Bali Hai"-ish views of the hills around the lagoon. I look forward to hearing about everyone's holidays! We walk every Thursday morning around Carlsbad/Oceanside. Misc stuff: 1. Dogs welcome on leash 2. Bring along a bottle of water 3. Wear comfortable walking shoes & clothes 4. Walk will take about 1 hour To meet at the trailhead: The trailhead at the end of Gabbiano Lane. From I5 take the Poinsetta Lane exit. As you exit the freeway go east away from the ocean (left if traveling south of I5, right if traveling north). Go RIGHT on Batiquitos Drive. Take the first RIGHT on Gabbiano Lane. Park at the end of Gabbiano Lane.
