Situated in the historic Mount Stuart Square, The Coal Exchange Cardiff was built sometime between 1883 and 1886 and actually housed the site of the first ever million-pound business deal. However, those days of coal trading on such an enormous scale are long gone, and The Coal Exchange Cardiff now functions as one of the country's most highly acclaimed arts and entertainment centres - something which is evidenced by the list of performers who have appeared there; Van Morrison, Feeder, Biffy Clyro, Bullet for my Valentine, Undertones, Saw Doctors, John Cale, Lost Prophets and Manic Street Preachers are just a few of those to have graced the stage at The Coal Exchange Cardiff over the years.
In addition to the concerts and other live music events featured on The Coal Exchange schedule, the venue can host almost anything and everything, from the likes of wedding receptions and fashion shows, to film shoots, student balls and corporate functions.
The Coal Exchange Cardiff can accommodate up to 1,000 people standing (less for seated events).
