It began in typical fashion- months of rehearsal followed by a shaky debut performance. In this case, the Gin Blossoms debuted on Christmas night 1987. The lineup would change but the band that night featured Jesse Valenzuela on vocals, Doug Hopkins on guitars and Bill Leen on bass. By May 1988 the band solidified under the more familiar line-up, with Robin Wilson taking over as lead vocalist, Jesse moving over to guitar and vocals, Hopkins & Leen reprising their roles, and Phillip Rhodes joining as the band's new drummer. Heritage Theatre
The new Heritage Theatre, the former Campbell High School auditorium in the 1930's, has been restored and redesigned to provide a beautiful and comfortable theatre with seating capacity for nearly 800. Heritage Theatre will bring major headliners and allow local groups and students to present performances in a modern facility. The building, designed by famed California architect William Henry Weeks, brought the community together for special events and celebrations. Following a $8.5 million restoration cost, this beautiful historic building once again opens its doors in celebration of the heritage of the West Santa Clara Valley.Links
