The Coolidge Corner Theatre kicks off a new season of Science on Screen with a special showing of "The Man in the White Suit," the 1951 comedy classic about a mild-mannered but single-minded research chemist (Alex Guinness) determined to bring progress to mankind by developing a new kind of fabric that never gets dirty and never wears out. Before the film, Marc Abrahams discusses some of the world’s most unusual inventions, while Daniel Rosenberg addresses the feasibility of developing everlasting, dirt-resistant clothing.
