Description:
Showcases the work of groundbreaking films from Ireland and the Irish Diaspora with its wide-ranging selection of contemporary features, documentaries and shorts.
Week-long retrospective of Lifetime Achievement Honoree, John Boorman (director, producer, screenwriter, credited with “Deliverance”, “Hope and Glory” and “The General”.) The retrospective is in conjunction with the Harvard Film Archive and the Brattle Theatre. Expanded range of educational programs and industry seminars designed to educate filmmakers and the general public on all aspects of the global Irish film industry, from the economics of production and distribution to politics of representation. The BIFF Awards honoring -- Best Feature, Best Documentary and Best Short Fiction/Animation -- Filmmakers will be in attendance.
