Event details: Walking Event: Cape Hatteras
Description
Winter, Daily 7 - 7; Summer, Daily - Dawn to Dusk. Closed Christmas and New Years Eves and Days. Call if weather is in doubt. National Park Visitor Center open 9-5. Youth under age 18 may walk free with credit. This is a level trail on grass along the roadway, on a dirt trail and 2 km along the beach. Visit the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and experience the micro-climates of the beach and maritime forest settings of the NC barrier islands. Stroller and wheelchair suitable only with bypass of beach and nature trail sections. Carry water, and insect repellant is strongly recommended. GPS: N35deg 15.91, W75deg 31.51
