About HSBC Arena in Buffalo
Description
The HSBC Arena is a multi-purpose facility located on the downtown waterfront of Buffalo, New York. It officially opened on September 21, 1996, and since then, has grown to become one of the top sports and entertainment facilities in the greater the New York area.
The HSBC Arena is currently home to the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres and the NLL’s Buffalo Bandits. Teams like the AFL’s Buffalo Destroyers, the NPSL’s Buffalo Blizzard and the RHI’s Buffalo Wings have also played a part in the venue's tenant history. The success of such home teams has given the HSBC Arena schedule the opportunity to host grand sports events like the 1999 NHL Stanley Cup Finals, the NCAA “Frozen Four” Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship and other professional and collegiate sports events. In addition to the endless list of grand sports events it annually hosts, the HSBC Arena schedule is kept constantly abuzz with hit concerts, ice exhibitions and family shows.
