Description
One of the greatest Belgian artists of the 20th century is, once again, being honoured. Broodthaers, king of eclectic collections with the most unexpected aesthetic properties, liked to make his works using objects from everyday life: bricks, egg shells, sponges, plaster and newspaper. For this exhibition, the works of Marcel Broodthaers from the collection of the Museum of Modern Art –the biggest public collection of the Belgian artist’s works – are presented for the very first time in their entirety. This extensive set of works is completed by some pieces from other museums and private collections. A very good reason to rediscover this visionary and rebellious artist, whose body of work is still just as relevant today.
