This Canadian Celtic Band Nova Scotia's Cape Breton comprises beautiful dancing, singing, and some wild energy.The quartet, Ciarán and Fiona, Claire and Bruce, has become the evolutionary culmination that is now The Cottars. Feast is their fourth CD, extending and expanding The Cottars' music without ever losing track of their roots.Their roots show through clearly when they dust off something old and masterfully link it with something more contemporary.

Their concert material ranges from traditional balladry to a pair of Tom Waits songs, with performances that combine youthful exuberance and a mature virtuosity. Though the instrumental numbers should keep your toes a tappin' as the Cottars apply fiddle, whistle, banjo, and piano to a sprightly selection of jigs, reels, and even a polka medley--the lush, supple vocals of Fiona MacGillivray give the music its emotional depth and resonance.
