VECTOR | vector by KX2
Three-dimensional metal constructions jut off the wall towards the viewer in unexpected ways, as hyper pigmented painting demands attention. As soon as the initial impact subsides, the viewer is mesmerized by the meticulous attention to detail in the hand sanding of the metal and the textural paintings on canvas. The work is striking from a distance, yet enveloping from up close. The underlying mathematical complexities of the work are apparent, but these notions can also apply to other areas of life. The physicality of each work makes the viewer aware of their own personal space, while the dualities in each piece are testaments to the familial bond of their creators. Also, as a new addition to their work KX2 will introduce small-scale sterling silver models of each work coined as "minis".

KX2 is the collaboration between sisters Ruth Avra and Dana Lynn Kleinman working in metal and painting. Work by KX2 has been shown in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions around the world. In the past year KX2 represented the United States at the "2008 Beijing Biennale" at the National Museum of Art in Beijing, China. Other recent highlights include a solo museum exhibition at the Las Cruces Museum of Art in New Mexico and gallery exhibitions in New York, Washington DC, Colorado and Miami.
