Sten Hostfalt is one of the most innovative guitarists, composers and bandleaders on today's creative music scene in New York City. Described as ' Highly Exceptional and Virtuosic ' by Legendary Icons of American Music, mentors Jimmy Giuffre and Joe Maneri respectively. As well as, as a sideman and featured soloist alongside some of the world's leading and foremost improvisers, with work for the past 15 years enthusiastically featured by leading press including JAZZ TIMES MAGAZINE, ALL MUSIC GUIDE and THE NEW YORK TIMES
A New York City based, Internationally active musician / composer and award-recipient, currently appearing in shared live events with such diverse acts as MOBY, Keith Murray (DEF SQUAD), Daniel Carter and Tim Berne. And as a NYC bandleader with five ( 5 ) CD's as a leader or co-leader released, receiving acclaim and praise including honorable mention by esteemed colleagues in spanish TomaJazz and German Bad Alchemy Magazine'.
