The Psychology of Language at Watershed
A whistle-stop tour accompanied by William Shakespeare, Dorothy Parker and Dr Seuss.
Language distinguishes humans from other species, but to what extent is it learnt or inbuilt?
Professor Jarrold will draw on the language of both classic and not-so-classic wordsmiths to illustrate various components of language.
He will also discuss what we can learn about the acquisition of language, and how his research might be used to develop ways of helping children with language problems.
Speaker Professor Chris Jarrold, School of Experimental Psychology
