Description
Queensland's first Governor, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, accompanied by his wife Lady Diamantina Bowen, witnessed the reading of the Letters Patent from the balcony of Adelaide House, now the Deanery of St John's Cathedral in Ann Street, Brisbane.

Proclamation Day will culminate the year of celebrations across the State and recognise the contribution and support of all Queenslanders towards the Q150 celebrations.

A special commemoration ceremony of Governor Bowen and Lady Diamantina's arrival at the City Botanic Gardens will be held. There will be a flag-raising ceremony, 21 gun salute (from Kangaroo Point Cliffs) and a special F-111 fly past.

Don’t leave the ceremony for the following parade without grabbing your free Queensland inspired morning tea â€" a lamington.

There will be more Proclamation Day events happening all day across Brisbane. Visit www.q150.qld.gov.au for more details.
