Blake Ashton is a rising young star performing for the First Time Ever before his hometown fans. His debut smash hit "Superhero" hit record highs on youtube exceeding 150,000 views in less than 3 months. He is a currently student at Lacey High School in the Jersey Shore. Currently he is working on the music video for "Superhero" and continues to spend endless time recording in the studio.

Zach Matari, 18, is a Pop-R&B singer/songwriter & musician from the Garden State. Born in Pequannock and raised in North Jersey, he appears to be a typical suburban teen, until you listen to his voice and then zoom in on his lyrics. That is where typical ends and extraordinary begins.

As a child, Zach was interested in playing soccer and often kept his musical aspirations to himself. As he grew, he taught himself to play the guitar, a gift he received as a toddler that was literally bigger than he was. He also learned to play piano and would sing at family parties. It was his supportive and loving family who gave him his first applause and his first standing ovation and is the backbone for him as he takes his musical journey.

In early 2009, when he was 14, Zach started singing in a local band called Valhalla that was comprised of his cousin and classmates from his High School. Their first performance was for a benefit concert at the high school to raise money for genocide torn Darfur. With only two weeks of practice, he surprised the audience and especially his family, when he got up on stage with his band and rocked to Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog” and Guns n Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine.” After that performance, Zach was hooked and wanted nothing more than to perform on stage for his peers who became early fans dubbed the “Valhallians.”

In the summer of 2009, Zach performed at the famous Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. known as the birthplace of the “Boss,” Bruce Springsteen. Knowing that he stood and performed on the same stage as Springsteen, and other famous artists like Black Crowes, Maroon 5, Jason Mraz among many others, inspired him to continue performing and reach for his dream.

Valhalla didn’t want to be known as just another cover band, so they spent hours composing and practicing original songs in Zach’s basement. With their hard work and dedication, Zach wrote 11 original songs with the members of his band, each taking on a key role in the composition of the songs.

In 2010 and 2011 Zach Matari and his band Valhalla entered “The Break Contest” and were finalists in the contest. They earned a spot to perform in the summer music festival, “Bamboozle” at Giant Stadium in 2010 and 2011. The fresh alternative rock style band was and still is a hit with their fans, who follow them to performances throughout the Tri-State area. Zach and Valhalla also performed at the famous Bitter End in NYC, also known for the discovery of many famous artists, including Lady Gaga, who first performed there as a teen. They received a great reception from the fans and again that venue and the performance inspired Zach to continue working toward his dream.

Although Zach Matari has been performing with his alternative rock band Valhalla, he always has a love for R&B and Pop music. With influences from Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Justin Timberlake, and Maroon 5, he knew that he could combine their sounds to create his own to make hit songs!

The summer of 2011 was filled with hard work and determination for Zach. He recorded his debut single, “What You Are to Me,” which is scheduled for release worldwide in early 2012 followed by the world premiere of the video for the song. With guidance from Grammy-nominated music composer and record producer, Jerry ‘Wonder’ Duplessis, and well-known music publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure of Schure Media, Zach is scheduled to release his first full debut album late 2012. Zach Matari’s goal is to have songs from his first debut album chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2012, Zach auditioned for American Idol and made it to Hollywood.

At 18, Zach is fully aware of what he wants and what he is all about. “An old soul is the last thing you would expect to find in me,” he says with that shy smile that often punctuates his conversations. “But all it takes is one listen to realize that I am just that, an old soul. Ultimately life is the best gift we could ever receive and good music is a blessing.
