Long Distance RTE (Ride to Eat) As we all know most of our Sweepers still need to be swept. Instead of letting the bikes sit dormant in this nice weather, I'll be doing some Long Distance Rides to Eat. All of them will get us back before dark and we will usually be looking at no more than 2 hours in the saddle. Though, as weather improves and daylight stays around longer, I can push it much farther if people are interested. Destination: LaGrangeville, NY to Williamstown, MA. This is a 2 hour ride each way, plus an hour to eat and then do some sight seeing. If you have not been there, its a great little college town with a lot of culture and good eats. Distance: This is just under 100 miles each way. Fuel is available across the street from the Meet Up location and along the way. Experience Level: This is suitable for riders of all types that are comfortable being on the highway and who's bikes can maintain speeds of between 60 and 70. Slow riders in the front, fast in the back. Speed: We will be running on the Taconic State Parkway, NY 22 and MA 7. Speed will be just around the legal limits or average speed for the road. If you want to open it up and wait for us to catch up, you are welcomed to. I'll give you directions or you can GPS it and warm up our seats. Stops: We will make a pit stop in Chatham just of the TSP and then continue onto the destination. Gas is available here and up further. Start Point: Breakfast is on St. Lawrence Properties. We will gather in the office parking lot between 8am. and 9am. We will depart at 9:30am. Get here early if you want coffee, donuts and Egg Sandwiches. We are 2 miles West of the TSP right on Rt 55 and across from the Mobil Gas Station. I expect to return to the office location around 4pm. Earlier if no one is sight seeing up there. These RTE's can be a lot of fun. A great way to visit new places and spend some time with great people.
