Individuals trapped by their trauma histories often struggle to feel a participant in life post-trauma. Work with returning Veterans has shown how connection, feeling useful and productive is key to the healing process and the re-integration back into society. This presentation will review efficacious interventions to assist trauma clients to reconnect back into the community utilizing the modality of service.


Dr. Daniel Sumrok, MD, FAAFP, ABAM/ASAM, Medical Director, The Ranch

Dr. Sumrok is an experienced and creative physician with broad interests in addiction, pain, family medicine, emergency medicine and instructing at a university level and who is mindful of the spiritual aspects of treating the human condition. An ASAM certified Addictionologist, he is focused on providing the highest quality of treatment and care possible.


Learning Objectives:

• Attendees will discuss how trauma affects the victim's connectivity to personal emotions.
• Attendees will discuss how trauma impairs the victim's ability to relate to others.
• Attendees will review modalities of community service used to help trauma sufferers reconnect with their own feelings and the feelings of others.
