Walking Event:

Start Point is open Mon through Sat from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sun 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closed Christmas and Easter. Walk during daylight hours only. This is a quiet walk on paved trails and sidewalks through a nice suburban community. It is rich in wildlife, including waterfowl (Great blue herons) and songbirds, and the occasional jumping fish. Walkers will visit two ponds, pass the City of Bowie Radio and Television Museum (open Sat and Sun, 1 to 4 p.m., other times by appointment, free), and finish back at the New Bowie Town Center mall. The 5km trail does not go to Allen Pond. The 6km trail goes most of the way around the pond. There are dining opportunities in the mall to suit every taste. Restrooms are in the mall food court all year round and at several locations on the trail during the warm months. Pets are not permitted on the mall main street or in the Start Point. They are allowed on the trail and must be leashed at all times and cleaned up after. The trail lies entirely within Prince George's County.
