Description
Jazz and the Orchestra with Michael Christie and the Festival Orchestra, featuring the brashly outrageous brass yawpings of Bernstein’s Prelude, Fugue, and Riffs, and excerpts from Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess - these tunes have become standards for jazz improvisation - and Copland’s 3rd Symphony, the very piece with which Music Director Michael Christie made his debut at the New York Philharmonic in 2008.
