THU JAN 15 7:30 PM - 10:30 PM A MUSICAL INAUGURATION On Oct 16 and Oct 31 at The Rock N Soul Cafe; 12 outstanding local musicians gathered together to sing their original protest songs, emphasizing the importance of the Nov 4 presidential election. These songs were recorded "Live at The Rock N Soul Cafe" and have been combined into one compilation CD titled "Boulder Politics ~ The Voice Of Reason". This is the official CD Release party! Boulder Politics, The Voice of Reason, is a compilation of local Colorado artists singing their souls out to convey their deepest held convictions and beliefs about the world around us. The performance was recorded live at the Rock n Soul Cafe (not coincidentally) on Halloween, a day fueled by fear and horror; a fitting backdrop for our recent political landscape. It is our hope that the emotion and sentiments captured on this magical night in October inspires others to think about how a single voice can make the world a better place. The performance was arranged in three powerful sections; Darkness, Voice and Hope to express the creative process of moving toward change. DARKNESS ~ Songs which depict the sorrow and disappointment felt by many during this past political administration. VOICE ~ Songs which express the possibilities an individual can speak against the grain of a broken system. HOPE ~ Songs which proclaim the power of optimism on an evolving world stage.
