Agganis Arena on the Boston University campus is well known around town, not only for its hockey and basketball games, but for scheduling some of the top entertainers and musicians in the country. The arena is home to the 2009 NCAA Champion men's ice hockey team, the Terriers, but also hosts the women's hockey team and some of BU's basketball games. During the off-season, Agganis Arena schedules popular events, ranging from touring stage shows like Cirque du Soleil, to legendary performers like Roger Daltrey. The size and accommodations of Agganis Arena make it an ideal venue for any performance.
The arena was built in 2004 to replace Walter Brown Arena, and has proven a great home for the Terriers. It is located on the Boston University campus, in the John Hancock Student Village, and can accommodate over 8,000 people. The arena's size allows for events like Cirque du Soleil and Sesame Street Live! that other venues can't host. It's somewhat out-of-the-way location on BU's campus provides relief from the metropolitan area, but the arena's juxtaposition to Interstate 90 makes it easily accessible from anywhere in the greater-Boston area.
Whether it be for a Terrier's game or for your favorite musician, Agganis Arena provides great amenities and top notch facilities. For a schedule of all of the arena's upcoming events, check the list above.
