9th Annual Boston Walk for PKD at Artesani Park

Join Mary Richardson of Chronicle at the 9th annual Boston Walk for PKD
When: Saturday September 12, 2009
Where: Artesani Park,1233 Soldiers Field Rd, Brighton, MA (across from Days Inn).
Registration begins at 9:00 AM; Penny Kids Dash: 9:50 AM; Walk Start Ceremony 10:15 AM, Walk 10:30 AM.

Join the New England Chapter of the PKD Foundation at its signature fundraising event. Polycystic Kidney Disease is among the most common hereditary diseases affecting 1 in 500 people. Yet, hardly anyone has heard of it. There is no cure and no treatment, but with your help there is HOPE!

Register Today. It’s FREE!

Join us in our 20/20 Vision for a cure! Register for the walk for free at www.Bostonwalk.org. Then ask 20 friends for $20 each. It’s that simple. Each person does a little and together it adds up to a lot. This is a fundraising event!
Each person who raises $100 or more will earn a tee shirt. The more you raise the better the prize!

The Boston Walk for PKD is a family event to raise awareness and to fund research to find a way to stop this devastating, all too common disease that affects generation after generation….infants, children and adults of all races. 16 human clinical trials are underway, many in the Boston area. By collecting and donating you will be directly contributing to these research programs.

The 9th Boston Walk for PKD will feature more kids’ activities. Join us this year for our inaugural Penny Kids Dash for kids 3–12 years old. Children are given the opportunity to see for themselves what fundraising is and how they can make a difference. Kids should start saving or collecting coins and bring them to the walk in a plastic bag. They will then be involved in a short race! Money collected will go to their team. Everyone involved WINS! You can expect a great kids' craft table, face painting and more. All the things you’ve come to expect (prize drawings, breakfast, and goody bags) will be there better than before.

Visit http://www.bostonwalk.org/ to register, donate, or volunteer. To find out more about the walk visit www.pkdcure.org email bostonwalk@pkdcure.org or call 1-800-PKD-CURE.
PKD is a hereditary disease where cysts grow on the kidneys ultimately causing kidney failure and the resultant poisoning of the body. Currently, dialysis and transplantation are the only treatments. There is no Treatment or Cure! But when one is found, we will save the government billions in Medicare dollars. Our Goal: No one feel the full effects of PKD

Thank you to this year’s sponsors: Emerson Ecologics, The Boston Channel WCVBTV, MIX Radio, Arbella Insurance Group Charitable Foundation, Food Should Taste So Good, 4Imprint Company, Spring Hill Farm Dairy, Oceanspray Cranberry Juice.
