Event details: Boston Area Lung Cancer 5K Walk
Description
In Massachusetts alone, over 3,600 people have died from lung cancer in the last year. Despite lung cancer quadrupling the mortality rates of other cancers such as breast cancer, annually, research and funding dedicated to finding a cure remains scarce.
The fourth BOSTON AREA LUNG CANCER 5K WALK will be held at Castle Island, in South Boston on Saturday, November 7, 2009. On site registration begins at 10:00 AM and the walk starts at 11:00 AM, rain or shine. For those who are unable to come to Castle Island in South Boston, registration as a satellite walker is encouraged. All proceeds from the event benefit the LUNGevity Foundation, the nation’s leading private supporter of lung cancer research. Pre-registration is currently open at www.lungevity.org/bostonwalk.
