Appalachian Trail--Elk Garden to Grayson Highlands State Park Hike

What better way to start the New Year than with a hike? This hike on the Appalachian Trail takes us from the parking area at Elk Garden through Mount Rogers and Rhododendron Gap to Massie Gap in Grayson Highlands State Park. This hike is approximately eight miles in length and offers several incredible views. We will also take a quick hike up the Mount Rogers Spur Trail to the top of Mount Rogers (which is the highest point in Virginia). This is a shuttle hike, so we will need to work out the transportation situation when we see who is attending. Let's get out and start the New Year off with a bang (or hike--as the case may be)!
