"Zuretzako" & discussion w/ Dr. Joseba Gabilondo at Basque Center

If you weren't able to see the premiere of "Zuretzako" last August, or would like to see it again on a large screen, you won't want to miss this opportunity provided by the BSU Basque Studies Program as part of the "International Mother Language Day" celebration.

"Zuretzako" is the story of Joaquin as he herded sheep in the mountains of Idaho, hundreds of miles away from his family in the Basque Country. With hopes of giving his children a better future, he fights through each new day. When Joaquin's son joins him herding, years of separation and sacrifice have never felt greater. Together they must battle the mountains, the isolation, and each other. As life repeats itself, they'll do anything to change their destiny.

Dr. Joseba Gabilondo, Michigan State University, will participate in the evening as a cinema scholar, and the film's writer and director, Javi Zubizarreta, who tells the story of his grandfather in this intimate family drama, will also be available to answer questions and give insight into the making of the film.

Sponsored by the BSU Basque Studies Program, BSU Student Programs Board and the Delegation of Euskadi in the United States. For more information call: 208-447-8975
