On Wednesday, March 27 at 6 pm Loren Wood and Joel Keefer, of Loren Wood Builders, and Marc Cornett, of M C A Urbanists, will do a presentation on the Bloomington Cohousing Community, which is in the early stages of construction. This new neighborhood, situated about a mile south of campus, is designed with a core concept of smaller homes situated around a common green space and common buildings. "Cohousing communities are intentional, collaborative neighborhoods created with a little ingenuity. They bring together the value of private homes with the benefits of more sustainable living. That means residents actively participate in the design and operation of their neighborhoods, and share common facilities and good connections with neighbors. All in all, they stand as innovative and sustainable answers to today’s environmental and social problems."~The Cohousing Association of the United States **Also, a reminder that our friends the Concerned Scientists at IU and IU's Environmental Resilience Institute, among others, are hosting the renowned climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe for a lecture tonight, Tuesday, March 26, at 7:30.
