It's a time of celebration as the Pollitt family gathers to celebrate patriarch Big Daddy's 65th birthday, but beneath the festive atmosphere lies an undercurrent of greed and longing. Family members haven't told Big Daddy that he has terminal cancer, but his eldest son Gooper and his wife Mae have already started the battle to wrestle his estate from younger son Brick and his wife Maggie, 'The Cat". Brick and Maggie, meanwhile, wage a more personal war against each other and their own unfulfilled desires. Williams once described CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF as "interplay of live human beings in the thundercloud of a common crisis" It should not be missed.
